Disabled and Elderly Jurors Nondiscrimination Act

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Disabled and Elderly Jurors Non-discrimination Act’’.

SEC. 2. EXCLUSION FROM FEDERAL JURIES ON ACCOUNT OF DISABILITY OR AGE.

(a) DISCRIMINATION PROHIBITED .—Section 1862 of title 28, United States Code, is amended by inserting ‘‘disability or age,’’ after ‘‘origin,’’

(b) QUALIFICATIONS FOR JURY SERVICE .—Section 1865 of title 28, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:‘

‘(c) No person may be disqualified from serving on grand and petit juries in the district court under paragraph (2) or (3) of subsection (b) on account of disability.’’.
