This session was designed to bolster our understanding of the Massachusetts Legislature and improve our advocacy efforts on behalf of older adults, people with disabilities, and those who care for them. This session includes an overview of the legislative process, including the processes by which bills become laws and budgets are determined; timely tips and tactics; and ways that we can turn our passion into action. Let’s work together to make 2022 the year when true transformation begins.
Goals:
- To educate Dignity Alliance volunteers and partner organizations on the legislative process so that they can more effectively advocate on behalf of Massachusetts’ older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers.
- To launch a call to action to ramp up advocacy efforts for legislative priorities beginning in 2022.
