S 2210 – Better Care Better Jobs Act

Federal Bill S 2210 supports the Dignity Alliance MA Goal 3 – Home and Community-Based Supports and Services improvement and expansion of opportunities. DAM has endorsed this legislation.

The bill would make an historic investment in the Care Economy. This vital legislation will strengthen and expand Home and Community-Based Supports and Services that are urgently needed by older adults and people with disabilities in Massachusetts.

With expanded eligibility requirements for personal care services, increased support for family caregivers, and programs that will help with the, sometimes, complicated and confusing application provisions, enactment will help more people remain in their homes or in their community close to loved ones rather than be forced to enter a nursing home. The bill will also help to strengthen and expand to Home and Community-Based Workforce by addressing payment rates that currently fail to provide a living wage for these dedicated caregivers. We want to thank you for co-sponsoring S2210, and hope you will do everything in your power to achieve passage.

Dignity Alliance Massachusetts is dedicated to transformative change to ensure the dignity of older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers. We are committed to advancing new ways of providing long-term services, support, living options, and care, while respecting choice and self-determination. Through education, legislation, regulatory reform, and legal strategies, this mission will become reality throughout the Commonwealth.
